David Gottfried, author of the new book Explosion Green, along with Stephen Ashkin (president of The Ashkin Group) and Mark Bishop (of the Healthy Schools Campaign) will be conducting a 60-minute webinar discussing the history and evolution of the worldwide Green building movement.
The webinar—entitled “Meet David Gottfried, Founder of the U.S. Green Building Council”—is scheduled for September 3, 2014 at 2 p.m. eastern time. Further details of the webinar are to be announced in August.
According to Ashkin, who has long been known as “the father of Green cleaning,” Gottfried has more than 20 years of firsthand experience in the Green building movement. “He was there making things happen long before most of us ever heard of or were that concerned with Green and sustainable issues.”
Ashkin adds that Gottfried has a “unique perspective” and some “very candid views” about the Green evolution of the past two decades.
“One of our objectives with the seminar is to allow David to share his views, as well as discuss where things are going in the future, and, most of all, how we can all make a difference in building and operating Greener and more sustainable facilities,” continues Ashkin.
The webinar is designed for all those interested in Green and sustainable issues, including parents and schoolteachers, as well as individuals involved in the professional cleaning industry.
“This is one reason we wanted Mark Bishop to be a part of this webinar,” adds Ashkin. “Just like Gottfried, he has long been a valued leader when it comes to making our children’s schools Greener and healthier.”
“This webinar will not only be interesting, it should be inspiring,” concludes Ashkin. “We will hear how one person, in this case David Gottfried, really started a global movement.”
